What if you lived like it WASN'T your last day.
What if what you do today, How you grow, the choices you make, Aren't just for today. What if you chose to do things you could keep doing, Said yes and no based what you wanted for the long term Not what you thought you needed to. today Sure, live like there's no tomorrow But just in case. Live like there is one.

We all have the chance to make a difference
Doubling your chances of success, of making the bus Of meeting the right person Of getting the ultimate special prize Doubling your chances is pretty good odds But only if you start with a big chance. Doubling 50% chance is a guaranteed thing. Doubling a 1% chance isn't so special. Everyone has a chance to make a difference While the principle is the same, the maths isn't. There is only one thing more boring that not knowing what you are doing, where you are going and not knowing a thing.
And that is knowing exactly what you are doing, where you are going and knowing everything. The world is always changing. If you aren't changing you are't standing still You're going backwards. We need both.
An Opportunity won't turn into anything unless you put in the hard work Hard work won't lead to anything if you aren't given opportunities. The argument is that of course you can make your own opportunities That you can succeed without hard work. It's dumb argument. Why bother being the best you can be?
when no-one else is any good. Why be on time? when no-one else even shows up. Why go the extra mile? when you are the only one on the starting line. Why exceed expectations? When the others don't even meet them. Brilliance doesn't happen when we all compete to better than the competition. It's when we stop competing and start being the best we can be. Sometimes we think things are stressful
When mostly those things are not stressful at all Being behind schedule on that thing is stressful Worrying that that thing is not good enough is stressful Not having enough time or money to do that thing is stressful Not getting the payoff you thought you would from that thing is stressful If you want to reduce your stress check out what is stressful before you throw out the thing. (things are lots of things, people, jobs, projects, or in my case a door) Are you a gift?
Designed to be received without reciprocation To be enjoyed As a sign of friendship or caring. Are you a reward? An outcome of a positive effort An acknowledgement of exellence Something earned and deserved Or are you a punishment? Something taken for being bad A penance Something to be endured to become better (Here's the thing; you are all three, you just have to pick one if you want people to engage with you or your business) Are people thinking about themselves?
Or making shit up about you. Is your kid out running? Or dealing drugs Has your client cancelled because they don't feel well? Or do they actually just hate you. The truth is generally the most boring But don't let that get in the way of a good story. We all agree
We know what we are talking about We've discussed it We know what is going wrong we know how to fix it We have the answer So when dp we stop telling each other what the answer is And start making it happen How much do you want this?
What would you give up to get it? How long will you wait? How many times will you say no to other offers? The wanting part is easy. It's the stuff you need to do before getting that causes the trouble. |
