Do you think one day we will go from defining beauty,
past redefining beauty, to a place where beauty is not used as measure of someone's worth at all? Maybe we could find other measures to decide whether a person is worthwhile. Or perhaps we could just assume everyone is worthwhile without measuring them against a standard at all.

How long do you wait for the applause?
How do you know that the work you are doing is good enough? When do you decide it's worth carrying on? Getting feedback from the roaring crowds feels amazing. Having people say you are the best is inspiring. Knowing that people are awaiting your next move is awesome. But as you prepare to take your bow. As you wait to hear the roar of the crowd. As you anticipate the gratitude and awe wash over you. Don't hold your breathe. If we are all standing back, waiting for our applause. Who is left to clap? Don't wait for things to get worse before realising how good you have it now.
Beware
In the pursuit of perfection In the search for the ultimate goal As you strive to be the best you can be That you don't miss out on some of the world's less perfect delights. Opportunities don't always come dressed as opportunities
with a name badge a list of outcomes or a guarantee Sometimes opportunities come dressed as a favour a request an exchange of pleasantries Sometimes opportunities come as your response to a negative situation or a deadline met or going the extra mile If opportunities are what you are after make sure you don't just look for the ones dressed as opportunities. |
